"The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made."
Psalm 145:13b

SCCS Mission Statement:  The mission of SCCS is to develop in each of God's children a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play.
In relation to SCCS's mission statement, we see children in the Discovery Program as needing to realize their strengths and abilities, accept themselves and their gifts, and learn to actively use them in humility to serve God and others in their work and play.

  • Beethoven's music teacher once told him that as a composer, he was hopeless.
  • Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because he had "no good ideas."
  • Winston Churchill failed sixth grade.
  • Louisa May Alcott was told by an editor that she'd never write anything with popular appeal.
  • As a boy, Thomas Edison was told by his teachers that he was too stupid to learn anything.
  • Einstein was four before he could speak and seven before he could read.
