In 7th grade science we learn:
- How to DO science! We'll do a couple of
labs to explore what scientists do when they are "doing" science.
(See
my philosophy of why we don't study
science for more information.)
- Physical science! In physical science we
discover God's laws for how things move in our universe. We'll
study forces, energy, work, power, machines, and electricity.
We'll do several
projects to help us understand these ideas, including building water
bottle
rockets, balloon-powered Jell-O box cars, magnetic-levitation vehicles,
and marble rollercoasters.
- Life science! We'll consider the order God has
put into his biological creation, the characteristics all living things
have in common, what makes different types of living things different,
and how God has commanded human beings to care for his creation (see
Genesis 1:26-28). Specifically, we'll study cells, cell
organization and processes,
and plants.
